Lotte Tisenkopfa-Iltnere talks her first childhood memories about mystical Northern forests, and shares her experience of making her modeling debut for the SMART ANTIOXIDANTS line.

This year we are celebrating the 10th birthday of MÁDARA, and on this special occasion also launching a new, unique product line SMART ANTIOXIDANTS with the brand's founder Lotte, a real woman and a real face, making her debut as its face and ambassador. She shares her experience on how was it, when and why. We welcome you to take a look behind the scenes.

More than 10 years ago I experienced an allergy from synthetic skincare products, so I decided to set my skin on an entirely natural diet. Also, this inspired me to create MÁDARA. Once we started to research natural Northern herbs, I was surprised by the cellular tests that showed how well our skin cells recognize plant-based ingredients – much better than chemical molecules.

Human cells are rather similar to plant cells, belonging to the same type of cells, therefore vitamins and antioxidants, synthesised by a plant, are always of a more correct molecular form and are more easily recognized by skin cell receptors. After 10 years in skincare, I'm convinced of a simple formulation rule: the more natural ingredients a product has, the more effective it becomes for the skin.

I totally enjoyed this modeling experience for SMART ANTIOXIDANTS. As a child, I spent my childhood summers living in my grandmother's countryside house, surrounded by hilly forests, wild and mysterious to a child's eye.

Every morning I set on an adventure alone or with a few other kids from the nearby houses. We were exploring nature, building bunkers, making fire. It was my grandmother that taught me that forest and meadow is full of healing herbs. The ingredients of SMART ANTIOXIDANTS – Lichen, Moss, Fern and Alchemilla – come from the evergreen Northern forests, and me too in a way. We have dedicated this product line to younger women and men in their late 20s and 30s – like me, – who are looking for a more targeted answer to their specific skincare needs.
